RetiredAt40, your comment so captured me that I created a membership just to respond to you. While I share your family value concerns, please do not assume that every couple in this situation is lusting after the Mercedes or the trophy house. Some of us are in this situation to protect our family. The job situation in my town was so bad that 5 months ago I took a job with my previous employer, 550 miles away. Soon, I will go home and work virtual, which will be great for our family. In the meantime, however, we endure a commuter marriage & commuter parenting. Why? To pay the rent on our 1,000 square-foot house, to keep up the maintenance on our 10 and 12 year-old vehicles, to have medical insurance benefits, and to keep our family from bankruptcy. Some families just have to make the hard choice, even it if means, regretfully, only following jktaylorjr's advice of dinner together twice in the last five months. Just please remember that not everyone is financially able to retire at 40.

Ahhhh.... Notice the 'me, me, me, me... I, I, I, I... money, money, money...' Yes, lets all sacrifice the family, the kids, the relationships for money. These are extraordinarily selfish people! 'But I **NEED** the Mercedes.' 'But I can't live without the 5000 sq. ft. house!'
