Re. the Mercedes E320 Diesel, you say: 'But it's rated at just 23/32, not that much better than the premium-fuel E350, which is 17/24.' Since when is a 33% improvement, 'not that much better?' While the Tahoe Hybrid doesn't impress at face value, I think that a vehicle of its size and cargo capacity getting 22 MPG hwy is impressive.

I've read that as demand for Diesel fuel in the US increases, the price will continue to rise above that of gasoline because the old refineries currently online output Diesel at a fixed percentage of output which means supply won't keep up with demand. I'd like to hear if that's not the case.

Don't forget about Acura's TSX Diesel due out next year. That should prove to be a competent yet efficient ride.
