As in shopping for any consumer item, the best way to save is to shop around, and become informed. But do not just 'shop for today'. Determine your long-term needs, visit a few stores, and cultivate a relationship with a salesperson that has been in the business for a while. He or she are likely to keep you informed of coming sales, and will be your advocate for good prices and the eventual service requirements. Keeping your interests foremost is how these people earn a living!

Highpoint? Fugetaboutit. Having a sales outlet perhaps hundreds or thousands of miles from your home is not the way to get good service. Once you pay the freight to have individual pieces shipped, then YOU assemble and install, there will be no bargains had. Then what do you do if you require service? The Highpoint outlets are set up to ship large volume to make their profit.

Support your local stores and salespeople. It will be a sound long-term investment on your part.
