I waited and waited hoping Verizon would start carrying the iPhone. It didn't happen so three weeks ago, I dropped my Verizon account after 15 years of using them (did not have a contract any longer) and purchased an iPhone and was forced to got with ATT. I looked at Verizon's phones over and over again but was not happy with their non-friendly use.
It appears Verizon picked up on me leaving and started to partner up with the Apple folks. I consider myself an agent of change.
But I'm stuck with a two year contract and paid $35.00 for activation fees just so ATT can bill me monthly.

I could not agree more. I am a Verizon customer, and for a variety of reasons I don't want to change, but I really want an iPhone! AT&T won't ever get my business, but Apple will if a Verizon iPhone is available.

I have to admit, I can't believe I can't buy the phone I want because of my wireless carrier. I realize it's not quite the same, but I can buy the TV or laptop I want whether I have Verizon FIOS or Comcast.
