Back to topAn entered transaction may not be factored into current portfolio because you have used the edit screen previously to reset cost and shares for that holding. When you reset the position, it overrides any earlier transactions. To see if you have reset the position, go to the Transaction View and set the date range to show "All Transactions." Look for a transaction called "reset position", which records the direct edit of your position. You can then delete or change the date of the "reset position" transaction, so that the recently entered transaction will be factored into the calculation of the current portfolio.

Back to topSmartMoney.com uses a common security system for all our tools. This is based on user authentication in conjunction with an encrypted cookie. Each user that signs up for any of our tracking systems must provide a unique Username and Password. There are no duplicate Usernames in the system, and the Password is encrypted before being stored in the database. Therefore, it is not possible to learn the user's actual Username or Password from the encrypted cookie. This level of encryption is such that even the SmartMoney administrators cannot view the Password.
As a user, you have the option of saving the Password when signing up for our tracking systems. If you save the Password, the encrypted cookie is stored permanently in your Web browser. This allows user authentication to take place automatically, each time you visit the site.
If you do not save the Password, you must enter the Username and Password each time you visit the site. If more than one individual uses the same browser on the same computer, this may be the preferred method of authentication.
Back to topWhen splits and/or dividends have occurred in your stocks, a notification box will appear above your portfolio listing these splits and dividends in detail. You will have the option to add these splits and dividends automatically to your portfolio. However, you may also manually add splits and dividends transactions to your portfolio through the transaction view.
