Stocks gave back some gains but still ended the session in the green as oil and gold prices fell and the dollar clawed its way higher. The price of a barrel of crude settled at $114.45 after dipping to a three-month low near $112 intraday. Among ETFs, falling commodity prices pushed some specialty funds downward.
