Oil's 4% Jump Boosts Energy ETFs

Stocks rebounded Thursday as energy prices climbed and investors ventured back into the financial sector. The modest bounce evened out major stock indexes after they dropped Wednesday. Crude oil closed at $68.82, breaking $69 during the trading session, after a Goldman Sachs (GS) report said the price could hit $85 this year. Retail sales data were weak, and Friday's jobs numbers could make the end of the trading week volatile. The Dow Jones Industrial Average Rose 74 points to close at 8750. Winners

Oil s rise also lifted natural resource funds. The iPath S&P GSCI Crude Oil Total Return fund (OIL) climbed 4.2%. The United States Oil ETF (USO) gained 4%.
The SPDR KBW Regional Banking fund (KRE) climbed 4.5% as Keycorp (KEY) announced its conversion of common stock to preferred equity to help meet government stress test guidelines.

Losers

The return to stocks meant investors fled Treasurys. Investors pushed back the iShares Barclays 20+ Year Treasury Bond fund (TLT) 2.0%. Weak monthly same-store sales data for May prompted a mild selloff in the SPDR S&P Retail fund (XRT), which slid 1.6%.
