Lisa Scherzer covers personal finance for SmartMoney.com, contributing regularly to the Deal of the Day column, as well as writing other consumer stories. For three years she wrote the Pro Shop, a weekly column based on conversations with stock market strategists, fund managers, economists, political strategists and academics. Before joining SmartMoney.com in 2004, Lisa was a reporter for the New York Sun, a New York City daily. Prior to that, she was a copy editor and writer at The Wall Street Journal Online. Lisa holds a master's in journalism from Columbia University and a bachelor of arts in European history from Barnard College.
