Worth It, Not Worth It: Gift Baskets

The Petrossian Aperitif Basket ($310) available at Saks Fifth Avenue, has a range of appetizers (11 in all), including caviar, tsar-cut salmon, green olives and eggplant spread.

One drawback: its two-week shelf life.

Harry & David's Dinner Buffet Baskets ($140) offer a medley of meat, cheese and condiments, plus fruit and nuts.

The cheesecake and truffles make nice additions, but it's essentially a gourmet ham-sandwich dinner.

I THINK IT HAS ALL TO DO WITH THE RECIPIENT. I USE HARRY AND DAVID FOR ALL MY CUSTOMERS AT CHRISTMAS TIME. I CUSTOMIZE THE GIFT BASKET TO FIT THE FAMILIES AND THEIR LIFE STYLES AND FIND H & D TO HAVE QUALITY AND APPRECIATED PRODUCTS.
